Who is eligible for a DRB Personal Loan?

All US Citizens and permanent residents with a valid I-551 card are eligible.

What is DRB?

DRB stands for Darien Rowayton Bank, a well-capitalized FDIC-insured community bank based in Darien, Connecticut, a Fairfield County suburb located about 45 miles from midtown Manhattan. How simple and quick will it be?

The borrowing process is actually quite simple:


1. Fill out an online application which takes approximately 5 minutes. Once you authorize a credit check, you will receive approved terms- pending documentation verification.

2. Provide documentation as required by underwriter listed in the instructions of your approved terms email.

3. DRB provides a final disclosure and promissory note to e-sign.

4. Loan is disbursed on the date shown in your final Truth In Lending statement.

What documents will I need to complete the application process?

1. Photo ID.

2. Proof of income (pay stubs or signed offer letter, or in some special cases other documents).

3. Utility Bill.

How is DRB able to offer such low rates? What’s the catch?

There is no catch. DRB has been lending to our customers for years, and we recognize that the best borrowers are extremely low risk. Low Risk = Low Rates.

Is there a minimum/maximum amount someone can borrow using the DRB Personal Loan?

The minimum loan amount is $1,000. The maximum loan size is $35,000 for loan purposes of Auto Purchase, Business, Green Loan, Moving Expenses, and Other. The maximum loan amount is $45,000 for loan purposes of Debt Consolidation, Major Purchase, and Home Improvement. Additional proof of use documentation is required to be eligible for loan amounts in excess of $35,000.

Are there any fees for the DRB Personal Loan?

No.

Do I need a cosigner?

You do not need a cosigner, but if you do not meet DRB’s credit underwriting criteria on your own, a cosigner can be used to improve the likelihood you will be approved for the DRB Loan. For example, if your FICO score is below the minimum required, a cosigner’s higher credit score (and verified income) can potentially get the loan approved.

Does DRB forgive my loan in the event of borrower death or disability?

No. DRB’s personal loan products are not currently eligible for forgiveness.

Can I pick a term besides 3, 4, or 5 years?

No. These are the available loan terms.

What is the Automatic Payment discount? How can I get it?

If you provide your servicer or lender authorization to withdraw your monthly payments from a bank account your rate will be decreased by 0.25%. If, however, you stop using Automatic Payment, then your rates will go back to their original levels.

Can DRB finance loans in any state?

Yes, DRB is able to finance loans in all 50 states.

If I have already accepted a different loan, can I switch to DRB for a lower rate?

Yes, and it is easy to do. Simply get approved and funded by DRB and then use the loan to pay off your existing loan. It is important to check for any fees that may apply for early repayment on your existing loan.
